My Fresh Squeezin's (Blogger)

Ahh, the freshly squozen thoughts of Dalum. I try to post as often as I can, but sometimes life is just too busy to get stuff out in a reasonable amount of time. Please enjoy my random thoughts and drop me a line if you like.

6/11/2006 11:06:00 PM - BAM! Big update cuz I'm too lazy to do a bunch of small ones!

I'm still alive.  Check me out...  Look at me, I'm still here.  So on to the good stuff...

What has Dalum been doing?

Martial Arts:  Seth and I are starting our adult classes on the 21st of this month (June) at the Bay County Community Center.  We are doing self-defense with a practical sense of martial arts through Modern Arsis as our main focus.  This session runs for 10 weeks and classes will be $7/class.  Classes are at 7pm and will run an hour each.  Kids classes went well with an exception of people losing my emails at the home office then saying that I owe them $156 over the next couple of weeks.  Ummmm, no.  They've been sitting on that information for a couple of weeks now and they've seem to point a finger at me when everything was tracked properly.  They better get this fixed by tomorrow, end of business or who knows what will happen with registration for Summer Session tomorrow evening.

Cars:  My FC is frigging awesome still.  I'm in the market to get it kitted next and repainted next.  I'm also thinking that a turbo timer (I don't have a turbo, just hear me out now) will help the inherent issues that RX-7's/Rotary engines have...  Flooding.  When a rotary floods, it doesn't go away.  It's a problem of the timing of the engine when it's cold.  So when it thinks it has to run harder than it normally has to, it will lock in the fuel and oil in the rotor mechanically.  If it sits in the engine too long or too much stays in, I have to replace a bunch of parts.  The turbo timer will help avoid this issue and keep the car running for a few minutes after I kill the ignition.
Nyracat got a new car too.  Her Hyundai Elantra was being poopy for the past couple of months and it seems she didn't want to get nickel and dimed to death so we went to a car show at a local dealership and started the papers.  The guy that was helping with the financing was awesome!  He started with what we wanted (used, to her specifications) then it boiled down to a Chevy Aveo.  She test drove a couple of them a few weeks prior at a different dealership and seemed to fall in love with them.  (She loves the smaller cars like Geo Metros, Ford Focuses, even my old Kia Rio!)   So then the finance dude says that the used ones have little to no warranty and are more expensive.  The dealership owns them so they have to adhere to a price tag so they don't lose out too much.  He then suggested that we go for a brand new '06 Aveo.  For the benefits of a brand new one it's cheaper in the long run.  100% warranty, 0 miles, etc...  It was the price of getting a used one with another $200 extra for payments.  That's not even a full payment.  Who wouldn't do that?!?!  She got an awesome deal.  AND IT'S NOT USED!

Paintball:  I've got a martial arts buddy that has 50 acres and wants to start playing.  Like I'm NOT going to go do that!  Some of my family and friends want to play.  Good time to squeeze in some of my 1337 pump skillz.  Besides, a friendly family game will be the best way to get Fresh on the field for the first time.

PC and Games:  I reformatted my PC the other night cuz it was over a few years of shit building up and it was just running like a sticky turd.  Before then, I wanted to get into a couple of free MMO's that were being offered through a site called GameNGame.com
There's a Matrix-esque 3d shooter called Gunz: The Duel.  It's pretty damn awesome.  It doesn't look like all the new stuff coming out (thank GOD since my PC can't handle anything new) but it's still fun as hell!  Wall running, flips, super jumps, breaking the laws of gravity, Guns, Swords, snazzy clothing.  It's all in there!  Currently my character is almost level 3 and I'm building up enough Bounty (cash) to buy some new clothes and weapons.  I look like a barefoot vagabond with 2 uzis a katana and a couple of grenades.
Another one is on the back burner of my list, but it's still installed.  SHOT! Online.  It's a golfing MMO.  Yeah, I know.  It's golf.  It's kinda gay but IF I can get Nyracat to play with me then it might get cooler.  Besides, she is the one that got me to go out to hit balls at the driving range, start playing Mario Golf on the GameCube and touting the idea of playing 18 holes for real.  I think she owes it to me to give this one a try.  ;)
The game that got me hooked just by the looks of it and the idea behind it was Martial Heroes.  It's a martial arts MMO based on ancient China.  It's awesome, my PC didn't think the graphics were though.  Now I can play it.  YAY!

Work:  Pretty cool.  I'm working in HR.  Still learning the ropes but things are great all-in-all.  Other previous work issues are still plaguing me and I'll be in a better position after tomorrow.  Screw that lady.  I'm out for blood.  It will be worse if I don't get my way.  >:)

Family:  My family loves my immediate family now.  It's been a great amount of spending time with my parents and going to various events.  Real fun.  :)  I'm glad things are going the way they are.  Everyone is happy that Nyra got a 100% brand new car.  Everyone sees how good we are doing.  I got a specialty car that I've been wanting and she is in the realm of not dealing with used BS.

OK, more to come on a regular basis. I know I say that a lot, but I'm going to try to keep to an every day thing if not every other day from here on out.  No giving me guff for posting more than once a day too.  :p
