My Fresh Squeezin's (Blogger)

Ahh, the freshly squozen thoughts of Dalum. I try to post as often as I can, but sometimes life is just too busy to get stuff out in a reasonable amount of time. Please enjoy my random thoughts and drop me a line if you like.

10/23/2005 11:18:00 PM - Quite a weekend

A great time was had by all involved.  After getting out of work on Friday Nyracat and I had dinner together and had some friends over for the evening.  Saturday really kicked off the much needed vacation from Bay City that we've been looking to have for quite some time now.  We left before noon to get a good start on the day.  We were going to meet some friends (Dan and Nina) and have a late lunch reservation over at P. F. Changs.  I'm not fond of the food completely, but it's good.  The problem is that it's expensive.  The great part about that is we ate for free on a gift card/Christmas gift from almost a year ago!  After that we trversed the highway-split mall in Troy.  We visited the Apple Store, Sony Style, Crate & Barrel, The Pottery Barn and The Sharper Image.  Cool stuff in almost every store but Pottery Barn.  LOL!  After that we chilled for a few minutes at their place and watched the messed up art show on Detroit PBS.  This guy was slathering Betty Crocker frosting on this nekkid chick and calling it art.  All at the same time getting the inquisition from this other guy acting like a tool to see if he can get him to agree that what he was doing was objectifying women through his art.  Very annoying in a WTF humor kind of way.  Once everyone got bored we decided to roll down the street to Downtown Royal Oak to inhale form Cold Stone Ice Cream.  Holy crap that stuff is so good.  I had and Espresso with strawberries.  Everyone thought it was nasty.  Just go try it, it's good!  We all said our good nights after that and contacted Mike.  We went to eat dinner at Marinelli's.  Nothing like adding a ton of food to a day of food.  Man they make a hard core Reuben there.  Dinner was over, we had to go back and shake my hedache and get ready to get off to City Club.  I enjoy going there to listen to the music and drink.  I only had 1 drink.  Nyra, on the other hand, had more than 3.  Her 3rd got spilled on the floor from an "accident" that got all over my pant leg.  I found out last night that I'm no longer a smoker as I tried to smoke there, as I always did and as a force of habit.  I had 1 whole one then later on I tried to have another.  I didn't even get to a quarter of it and I just put it out.  Later I did it again.  So cool enough.  I'm not a smoker anymore.  We left there just after 2am.  Quite a fun day.  This morning we got up and went to Baja Fresh.  They seem to be the Panda Express of Mexican food.  Considered fast food, but not that fast.  The only difference is that the food here is good compared to Panda Express.  Both Nyra and I had a Burrito Dos Mano.  I didn't think that it was going to require 2 people to eat.  Holy crap.  We both ordered one.  She got defeaed and I was able to finish mine.  I really should have saved the second half for later like her, but I didn't.  (I'm kind of craving one right now!)  Lunch was over and so was the trip.  We said goodbye to Mike and did a last sweep of the area to go shopping on our way out.  Juat want to say that Whole Foods Market is da bomb!  Not cheap, but the quiality is defintitely there.  I'm pretty beat, so I'm going to bed now.  Back to the grind that I love tomorrow.  Good night!  ^_^
