My Fresh Squeezin's (Blogger)

Ahh, the freshly squozen thoughts of Dalum. I try to post as often as I can, but sometimes life is just too busy to get stuff out in a reasonable amount of time. Please enjoy my random thoughts and drop me a line if you like.

9/25/2005 10:47:00 PM - It's been a great couple of weeks...

So I started my new job with the Bay County Historical Society a couple of weeks ago.  I tell ya... It's been the happiest I've been in quite some time.  I'm making money again to pay my bills and live.  I work with a great group of people that seem to like me and love my work.  I just got done with doing the River of Time event that we put on every year.  It's a living encampment/timeline that goes from the Civil War era to the Vietnam War time.  There were some great things that happened there and some yummy treats from the vendors.  REAL caramel and kettle corn was made in huge vats right in front of everyone.  Jumpin' Johnny's and Little John's soda companies were there too.  Did I happen  to mention that I have had a great 2 weeks?  ^_^

On another note...
Nyracat and I went down to fix a small problem that I accidentally did to her car (It rained like a mofo today after the River of Time and I forgot to shut her windows.)  and we drove by my old work that I used to manage at.  This is the same place that gave me a hard time about everything.  I noticed that recently they have been closing the gas station during the nights after 9pm.  I also caught word that the general manager cam down and told them that they are all "fucking morons" and he gave an ultimatum.  They needed to turn the store around or he'd start by shaving hours.  It's obvious that they couldn't start the turn around process since they had only a couple of cars there at most of the time instead of the late night crew.  Then the hours of the pumps.  Well, when we drove by tonight the whole place was shut down and only a minimal amount of lights were running.  A nice sign on the door said that they can get all the c-store and Dunkin Donuts stuff at the other location in town and they can get the Baskin Robbins stuff at the competitor store.  It's kind of a just desserts seeing them all closed down like that.  They were a bunch of morons in that store that didn't know a damn thing about how to run something as "complex" as a store...  Hell they couldn't even run the cash registers properly.  I don't know how many times they had an item that was new or barely used that rang up wrong to the extreme.  Extreme being $100!  It's hilarious.  Life is so funny.  I only worry about the people that I did like there.  I think that was 2 people.  Susan & Adam.  I know that Susan MAY be reading my blog but I know Adam doesn't even have a computer.  Either way, I hope things work out for them and their families.

(Heh, I did a long entry.  :D)
