2/17/2006 11:23:00 AM - Dishwashers and electricity
Well, our dishwasher has been on the fritz for the past coule of months. It was only a problem when a fork or a wooden spoon would drop down below the baskets to jam the spinny sprayer thingies. It would just trip the breaker. Not this last time. The thing made this amazingly loud buzzing noise that sounded like a Jacob's Ladder powering up. Neither Nyracat or I were in the room the first time to reallllly see what happened. All we got was a bit of electrical smoke and the noise. The next day/last night, we emptied out the washer and ran it to get the batch of water out of the bottom. Big mistake. We were eating tacos at the dinner table and the machine was chuggin' away without any problems. All of a sudeden that same electrical noise came booming through the kitchen. This time seeing was believing. Some motor or connection was getting overloaded and it was arcing brightly in the kitchen. Eventually the thing spiked high enough where the breaker tripped downstairs. Quite a bit of electrical smoke came pouring out this time. I think I'll be done with messing with that thing for a while till the landlord sends his guy out to take a look.

2/13/2006 09:57:00 AM - Holy Crap! This thing is beyond cute!
Tomy's Bear MP3 Player Man, I love this company. I've always loved their stuff even from when I was growing up in the 80's. Now that jumps in technology and electronics is becoming (beyond) the norm, this awesome toy company is pushing out some great stuff like an MP3 player for kids. The earbuds are displayed above with the player. The size comparison is amazing! Right now all I can see is the memory limitation. In this day and age of iPods that are into high double digit gigs of storage, many players fall short when comparing to an AAC player. (I'm not getting into the interface comparisons and debates.) This player only has 128 megs. I'm sure that someone will get a hold of it and find that it's got some sort of standard and upgrade it with a larger storage card. Either way, it's so cute that it sure is soul stealing!
