12/16/2004 12:22:00 PM - HOW FREAKING AWESOME!!!!
I just got off the phone with the admissions department from Westwood University in Colorado. The lady gave me an impromptu interview over the phone since she needed to determine that I would be a good addition to the Westwood student body. I must have been on the ball with my answers today because she is sending a letter of recommendation up to the program director regarding my interest in being a student there! I'm printing out the curriculum for both the 2 degrees I'm looking for and am going to start to weigh it all out. I've been out of the programming scene for quite some time and had more than a handful of failed restarts. It looks like the the 3d modeling, art and game design is going to be the way to go with me. I will have to see with all the new info being sent to me. I've got the curriculum(s) now. Gonna go read.

12/15/2004 08:31:00 PM - Spare time? HA! What's that?!?!?
I've had a very minimal amount of spare time on my hands recently. Wait, let me rephrase that... I've had no spare time at all for the past few years. Things just seem to be speeding up and I'm not keeping pace. It's pretty frustrating at times. But I've just got to learn how to adjust. Things are finally settling down with my old relationship(s) and my life with my daughter is is gettign easier. Work is oddly stressful where it shuoldn't be but is easy enough to deal with. So now that I've got some "spare time" on my hands I thought it would be neet to try my hand at some things.
First is writing. I'm not looking to be a great novelist, but I do have a knack at certain things. So I thought a tech manual would be a good place to start. I can take my thoughts and experiences and apply them to a publication worth while to a good section of end users. This should be a fun endeavor. More to come on this as time allows me to complete my project.
Next, I've been entertaining going back to school. Back in the day, I had a knack for gaming. Playing them. Decompiling them. Creating small, simple games. Testing them. It was all something that I lost touch with a few years after I moved out of my parent's place. It's not because of things like gettign married or having a child or anything like that. It happened between when I left and before I got married. I lost sight and went to college for Computer Science/Business Management major and an Accounting Minor. It's just what they offered from the school I went to. I thought I'd be able to propel my wants and need from gaming into a career in gaming. I just got burned out. Now that there are colleges that specifically offer gaming oriented degrees, I am back in the saddle. I already looked at some universities and requested info to be sent.
Let's see if I can get my life back on track for what I've been wanting to do since high school.
Become an accomplished student, game developer and some sort of well known person in the Paintball Community.

12/13/2004 09:39:00 PM - A blast from the past!
I can't believe I'm watching Degrassi Junior High. If you know what the channel, The-N, is about then you know that they host the new version of Degrassi. All the new episodes, the drama, the good acting... it goes there. LOL! Anyway... I watch Degrassi: The Next Generation with and all the time. I'm fiending for the new episode, Time Stands Still pt 2, like you wouldn't believe. Since I'm waiting for my satellite to get reconnected, I went out and found the torrents for Degrassi Junior High seasons 1 & 2. Damn, this is horrible. It's funny to see how they got many of the old cast members to come back and reprise their roles in the new series. Anyway, back to season 1, episode 2.
