My Fresh Squeezin's (Blogger)

Ahh, the freshly squozen thoughts of Dalum. I try to post as often as I can, but sometimes life is just too busy to get stuff out in a reasonable amount of time. Please enjoy my random thoughts and drop me a line if you like.

5/13/2005 11:32:00 AM - What have I been doing?

Yeah, so here we go...

I've been moving. That's been fun all in itself. We are almost completely moved into the new place, but there have been unfortunate things that have happened along the way.

Some of the the things have been...
~The cats have been bored without having anything to do in the house. So they are doing what they want to the remaining stuff in there including varying amounts of defication.

~A max of 10 cats graced the house a few weeks before we started to move. (That was 6 cats and 4 kittens.) The 4 kittens found a home. The mom went to our next door neighbors. That knocks us down to 5. We are trying to find homes for our 2 remaining girls. Now I'm going to be with out my 2 girls. One is fine fine with me since she is the indoor/outdoor cat and she will be at home staying in the old neighboorhood. The other one is painful. She has been with me through thick and thin since she was a kitten. She will be 12 come July. Attachment is an understatement. I want her to go to someone that I know and trust. I don't want her to go and sit in a cage till she finds a new home. Apparently, shelters won't take her (along with Nyra's Phoebe, similar boat...) since they are "too old" and they don't want to risk it. Whatever...

~The last week of moving was this week. Someone thought it would be a good idea to come and break into the house and garage. The front door was left wide open. The garage side door was also left wide open. My car was beaten and glass was smashed. They tried to rip the trunk open. It looks like they tried to pry the trunk open with some sort of pry bar on the rear. Total failure there and then they tried to pull the trunk open from the hinges. Effectively breaking the glass on one corner then the other. Still no luck for them. The funny part about this is that the assholes didn't realize that my doors were left unlocked so they could just open a door and lift a handle to pop the trunk. From there, they would find the greatest booty ever! A bottle of DOT3 Brake Fluid from the dollar store, a cheap motorized hand sander from Big Lots, my Dremel and a $20 bit kit for the Dremel. If you are someone that has a problem with me and is not too much of a retard to use a computer AND you read my blog... Look at what you missed out on! Fucking Assheads. Anyway... The house was just fine. All 5 of the remaining cats are there and still alive. Alllllll of my paintball gear was left there. My expensive DDR Metal Pads are there. My computer and all of the related equipment was untouched and unscathed. Friggin weird.

So that's the big shit with moving. All is good here at the new place. It's huge. It's happy. It's 2500 square feet. It's big enough to have a computer room/home office for both Nyra and myself on opposite ends of the place. There is a freaking fireplace here! I've got a gas stove. (I've been wanting one of those for years!) This place is like some crazy soho apartment in a big city without that big city price tag. :) Damn, I'm so happy with this place. Well back to the unpacking!
