My Fresh Squeezin's (Blogger)

Ahh, the freshly squozen thoughts of Dalum. I try to post as often as I can, but sometimes life is just too busy to get stuff out in a reasonable amount of time. Please enjoy my random thoughts and drop me a line if you like.

4/17/2005 12:07:00 PM - Fun times and conglomo bands...

Went to go see Pigface (and a couple of other bands) last night in Detroit at Magic Stick. For those that I went with that have seen Pigface in the past, they said it wasn't that good. Being that this was my first time to hear them live, I thought it was pretty damn good. I didn't like Nocturne too much. There was another band there... Or a couple of guys... called Sheep on Drugs. They weren't that great as performers, but I did like the music. They had some insane, hard hitting bass. Nyracat and I were sitting in the back waiting for something cool to happen. Nothing did so we made something happen. We took all the beer bottles, cups, straws and swizzle sticks and put them all in one spot where the bass was making things jump hard. It was like a moment of distraction with shiny objects. It was fun tho. :p The band I did like besides, the headliner, was the opener. Project .44 was pretty cool. One thing they had was this guy that Erock was calling the Al-Qaeda Garbage Ninja. He was a pretty big guy masked and hooded hitting a garbage can to the best. He'd throw it around on occasion. I thought it was a nice original schtick. I was ted to get their new CD that night, but it's not out for a few more weeks. Bummer.

Another part of the night was the post dinner experience. The Italian food was great, but I got some severe gas and poop action. Not fun. The men's room at Magic Stick was filthy and paper-less. I had to leave after the second time around trying to decide if I was thinking of using the grossest toilet ever seen. Luckily, I was able to go downstairs to the bowling alley where I could take a nice healthy gas bombed dump so I could go and enjoy more killer industrial music.

That's what I did after working 4-12 the day before, going in at 6-12 leaving for Detroit and not going to bed till after 3 am on Sunday since we had to do our traditional Coney Island stop after we do something cool in Detroit.
