My Fresh Squeezin's (Blogger)

Ahh, the freshly squozen thoughts of Dalum. I try to post as often as I can, but sometimes life is just too busy to get stuff out in a reasonable amount of time. Please enjoy my random thoughts and drop me a line if you like.

6/30/2006 11:15:00 PM - OK So I lied about the every other day posting...

So my childhood just kinda took a dump in my mouth.

The Good - Transformers
The Bad - Michael Bay
The Ugly - Michael Bay + Transformers = Awesome movie if all you like is explosions and nothing to do with the original.

I've been bonding with Fresh about cool things in my life and things I loved as a kid.  She picked up on Transformers/Diaclones since she always had them sitting around the house because of me.  I ended up showing her the very awesome Transformers: The Movie (Circa 1986) and she's been hooked since.  I got geeked in the more recent months about them again (trust me, if you knew about old school toys vs the new gen...  There isn't much to do backflips over!) when the BinalTech/Alternator series came out.  The first one that came out here State-side is a Subaru WRX all done up WRC style.  INSANELY detailed and excessively posable!  I was broker than broke at the time and I'm kicking myself in the ass for not scraping it together to get that one.  Now I'm going to pay out the wazoo to get it off of eBay.  :(

So as the Alternator series started picking up steam I noticed (and it was intentional from Hasbro) they started to recycle old characters names, body styles/cues and head molds.  It was a perfect blending old and new.  Well, after finding out the rarity of particular Alternators, I started out on a mission to get one for G since I've been promising her a cool Transformer.  I could get Smokescreen (WRC styled Subaru WRX) or the Honda s2000 (can't remember his name) or Shockblast(wave) as the Mazda RX-8.  Since I'm a selfish bastard, I passed on getting HER Smokescreen and skipped the s2000.  She got Shockblast since I drive an RX-7 and I own the OG Shockwave.  She gets a KILLER toy that she can relate to with my childhood and things that exist in her world as well.  I find her playing with it quite a bit.  You can't imagine how happy that made me.

So back to the reason why I've got turds in my mouth...

I was geeked to find out that Dreamworks released the live action Transformers movie teaser/trailer 4 days early.  I went to the site and watched it.  WTF?!?!?!  What's with this Mars crap?  I understand it's a teaser.  Looking at a crapped out frame of something that looks like a robot doesn't do anything for me.  Transforming words doesn't get me off either.  I want to see some hot robot action.  I want to see Cybertron.  I want to see the Matrix of Leadership.  I want to see something that doesn't resemble shit.  I guess I'll have to deal with it till something better comes out so I can get that POS out of my head.  Michael Bay better deliver.

Till then, watch this so you can feel how I feel:  http://www.transformersmovie.com (The "Real" Thing)

Then watch this to make you feel better:  http://www.transformersthemovie.com/video/cgitest.mov  (AMATEUR VIDEO!)
